About the Role

As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will partner closely with stakeholders across architecture, engineering, quality assurance, operations excellence, and leadership to understand technical challenges, delivery expectations, and customer needs. You will shape and execute a global infrastructure roadmap focused on high availability, low latency, and reliability at scale. In this role, you will lead and mentor DevOps engineers, remove delivery obstacles, and ensure strong collaboration both within the team and across organizational boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available DevOps platforms, including the creation and ongoing improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead technology transformation initiatives aimed at aligning and standardizing DevOps practices across geographically distributed teams.
  • Drive technical assessments to evaluate and advance global DevSecOps maturity.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on DevOps strategy and execution, delivering workshops, training, and hands-on guidance to elevate team capabilities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to enable smooth integration and delivery, while coaching and mentoring engineers in DevOps principles.
  • Monitor cloud platforms and services, continuously improving performance and addressing capacity or latency constraints.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents related to cloud infrastructure, platform services, and deployed applications.
  • Stay current with evolving cloud technologies, security standards, and industry developments relevant to large-scale, regulated environments.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization, cost efficiency, and technical innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 5–7 years of professional experience in DevOps roles, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or lead engineer capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience with DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, and Git.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub-based workflows) and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL is considered a plus.
  • Broad experience working with major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as RDS, EKS, and ElastiCache.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated pipelines, using scripting or automation languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools including Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog.
  • Demonstrated success leading transformation initiatives and global standardization efforts, and advising on DevOps best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across distributed, international teams.
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills, including structured incident management and resolution.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and implementation of controls to protect sensitive, regulated data.
  • Practical experience working with Agile and Lean delivery models.
  • Exposure to platforms such as Apigee, Akamai, or ServiceNow is advantageous.
  • Clear leadership capability with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, CNCF) are a plus.
