Geekhunter is recruiting for a Compliance Officer on behalf of a MAS-licensed Major Payment Institution focused on cross-border remittance services within Asia. 

Job Responsibilities

• This role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of the remittance/payment platform, ensuring system stability, resilience, regulatory compliance (including MAS TRM), and operational excellence.
• Own end-to-end stability of the remittance/payment platform.
• Lead issue triage, root cause analysis, remediation, and preventive actions.
• Manage production support, including incident management, on-call coordination, and post-mortems.
• Monitor and improve operational metrics such as uptime, latency, MTTR, failed transactions, and issue backlog.
• Drive continuous improvement of the technology stack and engineering practices.
• Strengthen release management, observability, automated testing, and security-by-design practices.
• Implement and enforce change management, release governance, and production access controls.
• Ensure proper environment segregation and quality gates before production deployment.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring RTO/RPO objectives are met.
• Identify and eliminate single points of failure across systems and dependencies.
• Own and maintain MAS Technology Risk Management (TRM) framework compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and maintain the technology risk register.
• Ensure control implementation and audit evidence readiness.
• Manage outsourcing governance, including vendor due diligence, SLA/KPI monitoring, and access governance.
• Oversee incident and change governance requirements for outsourced service providers.
• Provide technical architecture and integration guidance (APIs, data flows, security controls).
• Conduct technical due diligence and ensure implementation readiness for group solutions.
• Support customer and partner discussions requiring strong technical expertise.
• Ensure solution recommendations align with regulatory, security, and operational requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, IT operations, technology risk, or technology leadership.
• Experience working in regulated environments (banking/financial services preferred).
• Strong banking and payments domain knowledge.
• Hands-on experience managing production systems and incident handling.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with IT operations governance and control frameworks.
• Knowledge of MAS Technology Risk Management (TRM) guidelines.
• Experience managing outsourcing/vendor governance and SLAs.
• Understanding of disaster recovery planning and operational resilience.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• High level of accountability and ownership mindset
