Job Description
About the Company
A fast-growing fintech company is looking for VP of Product Management to own end-to-end product outcomes — from strategy and roadmap through technical execution and measurable business impact.
Mission
Build a clear, scalable, and execution-driven product organization that:
- Owns and drives the company’s North Star toward a long-term AUM target
- Leads product and monetization strategy aligned with revenue and profitability goals
- Strengthens product and engineering capabilities
- Enables growth without creating long-term product debt
This is a founder-level product leadership role, not a senior PM or project management role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Translate company goals into structured product initiatives and sequencing
- Make decisive prioritization and trade-off decisions
- Define customer journeys and partner workflows
- Act as final decision-maker on product scope
2. Monetization & Growth Enablement
- Own product-led monetization strategy (pricing inputs, packaging structure, take-rate economics, unit economics levers)
- Partner closely with CEO to ensure commercial deals are scalable and margin-healthy
- Build structured feedback loops: revenue → product → retention → margin
- Define and track core metrics (activation, usage, retention, cost-to-serve, gross profit contribution)
3. Product Execution
- Lead product development execution and delivery quality
- Ensure requirements are structured, clear, and actionable
- Establish disciplined product delivery practices
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success to optimize onboarding and servicing
4. Technical Fluency
- Ensure product decisions are technically feasible and scalable
- Maintain high-level understanding of architecture, APIs, and integrations
- Partner with CEO and Engineering Lead on major technical trade-offs
- Help shape engineering cadence (sprints, QA, releases) without micromanaging
Key Qualifications
- Proven product leadership in complex environments (fintech, infrastructure, B2B SaaS, regulated industries, or partner-led platforms)
- 7–10 years of experience across engineering, product management, or growth, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience building API-based products, integrations, multi-stakeholder workflows, and operationally constrained systems
- A strong track record of driving measurable business outcomes (growth, activation, retention, margins) — not just feature delivery
- Strong prioritization judgment and the ability to say “no” to protect long-term system health
- Clear and convincing communication skills across leadership, engineering, partners, and customers
- High ownership mindset, courage to speak up, and humility to receive feedback
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with lending products and basic risk management concepts
- Exposure to compliance and regulatory constraints shaping product design
- Experience hiring and scaling product teams in early-stage environments
Perks
- Competitive compensation (cash + equity component)
- Private insurance and statutory benefits
- Direct partnership with CEO and influence on company direction
- Opportunity to build in a complex, regulated, high-impact fintech environment
- Flexible hybrid working arrangement
- High autonomy and authority in product and roadmap decisions
