Job Responsibilities

Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor endpoint security systems for any suspicious activity or potential threats1.
  • Analyze security alerts and logs to identify and mitigate risks2.

System Maintenance:

  • Ensure that all endpoint protection software, such as antivirus and intrusion detection systems, are up to date and functioning correctly1.
  • Perform regular system tests and vulnerability assessments to identify and address security weaknesses3.

Incident Response:

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing remediation measures..
  • Document and report security incidents, including the steps taken to resolve them1.

Configuration and Implementation:

  • Configure and manage endpoint security tools, including firewalls, encryption technologies, and access controls.
  • Implement security policies and procedures to protect endpoints from threats.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with network and systems administrators to ensure security solutions are integrated seamlessly into the overall IT infrastructure
  • Communicate security issues and best practices to other team members and stakeholders

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the organization’s endpoint security posture
  • Develop and update security documentation and protocols as needed3.
  • These tasks help ensure that the organization’s endpoints are protected against a wide range of cyber threats.

 

Job Requirements

Specification:

  • Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often required12.

Certifications:

  • Common Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, GIAC, and other relevant certifications12.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in endpoint security platforms such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems2.
  • Knowledge Areas: Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, current threat landscapes, encryption technologies, and malware operation1.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills2.
  • Communication: Ability to explain complex security issues to non-technical team members2.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of working experience
  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably with a focus on endpoint security2.
  • Responsibilities: Tasks include implementing endpoint protection strategies, conducting system tests, monitoring security incidents, and maintaining security platforms23.
