Job Description
As the Global Business Director at a SaaS startup, you will be responsible for leading the business strategy, execution, and management of the APAC region, with Indonesia serving as the regional headquarters. This role involves overseeing the P/L (Profit and Loss) responsibilities across the APAC region, driving sales and marketing efforts, managing local teams, and accelerating business expansion. You will be responsible for new market entry, driving revenue growth, and making strategic decisions to support global growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategy Formulation and Execution: Develop and implement business strategies for the APAC region, focusing on Indonesia as the regional hub, and tailor approaches for each market in the region.
- Regional Headquarters Role: Position Indonesia as the APAC regional headquarters, leading business operations, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making across the region.
- P/L Responsibility: Manage the P/L for the entire APAC region, overseeing business operations to ensure profitability and drive growth.
- Sales and Marketing Leadership: Lead sales and marketing strategies for each market, enhancing brand awareness and expanding revenue.
- New Market Expansion: Develop market entry strategies for new APAC markets, tailoring products and services to local needs.
- Team Management: Provide leadership for sales, marketing, and customer support teams in Indonesia and across the APAC region.
- Operational Coordination: Ensure efficient coordination of business operations, managing resources and aligning efforts across markets.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and partners to accelerate business expansion.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track KPIs such as sales, growth rate, and customer acquisition, and report progress to Japan headquarters management.
- Regulatory and Cultural Understanding: Understand local regulations and cultural nuances to ensure smooth and compliant business operations across the region.
Job Requirements
Required Skill and Experience
- 7+ years of business development experience in the IT industry (especially in SaaS, B2B software, or technology sectors)
- Strong strategic thinking, business management, and P/L responsibility experience
- Business-level proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated success in sales strategy, marketing strategy, and partnership development
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects across multiple countries/markets
- Basic understanding of IT technologies and technical knowledge
Preferred Skill and Experience
- Experience in business expansion within the APAC region (especially Indonesia)
- Deep understanding of APAC region regulations and industry trends
- Experience in managing multi-country business operations
- Experience in cross-cultural team management
